A geologist with 20 years’ experience in exploration, project, resource and mine production geology. Working history includes small teams of technical experts in consultancy situations, leading small and large geology teams in operational environments, and has
successfully completed independent research.
Dr New has a strong technical understanding of ore deposit formation and architecture acquired from research as well as hands on experience with a variety of mineral deposits. He also has detailed knowledge of sampling requirements in exploration, production and processing based on practical experience with complex material types and is experienced with sampling QAQC procedures and analysis. Dr New is familiar with a range of geostatistical methods gained from training and practical experience. He has experience in reporting and developing reconciliation practices that determine the validity of resource models developed from exploration and production data as well as identify issues with mining and processing.
Dr New is skilled in a range of mine environment software packages and is able to develop detailed and successful geological and resource models. He has the ability to design and build database structures for technical and productivity information that are simple to use, internally valid, and output the relevant results for analysis. He has excellent written and verbal communications skills and good knowledge of common Office software packages to successfully transmit results in a variety of formats. He is familiar with the requirements of reporting for JORC and NI43-101 standards through direct experience at reporting for exploration results and mineral resources.
